Tue 2017-12-05 12:35 PM 2018 Overnight Rides – UPDATE
The dates that had been selected for the ride to Gray Ghost Inn in West Dover, Vermont need to change as they are booked that weekend (July 20 & 21). I’m looking into the availability for the weekend of July 13 & 14 so please hold on requesting days off for that ride until we have confirmed dates!

Sun 2017-12-03 1:38 PM 2018 Overnight Rides
Thanks to those members who stayed after our regular meeting Saturday to help plan a few overnight rides for next year – we had some great ideas, which means we’ll have even better rides!!
Below is the list of rides and their planned dates. The ride leader for each of these will be pulling together more details for us in terms of lodging locations, costs, etc. The hope is that by planning these dates, people that need to request vacation time at the beginning of the year have the information they need to plan which rides they want to join.
May 11 & 12
Rangely Inn
Lead: Jim Parkinson
June 15 & 16
Naples, ME
Jack & Jill Ride
Lead: LOH – Anita
July 20 & 21
West Dover, VT
Gray Ghost Inn
Lead: John/Sharlena
August 17 & 18
4 Corners Park
Madawaska, ME
Lead: Stewart/John
September 1 & 2
Wharf Rat Rally
Digby, Nova Scotia (Canada – passport required)
Lead: Rick
October 12 & 13
The Forks
Inn By The River
Lead: Larry
Keep in mind that while there may be some that don’t seem like long rides, there’s nothing that says we have to take the shortest route to reach our destination – remember, it’s the ride not the destination! So, put your vacation requests in early if you need to – you don’t want to miss out on all of the fun! 2018 is going to be a great riding year for us!
Thanks,
Sharlena.

Mon 2017-08-14 8:45 PM Eagle Parade to Milwaukee
Please see the information below from Bruce Motta:
Greetings Chapter Directors,
I wanted to contact you to see if any of your chapter members are planning to ride out to the HOG National Rally in Milwaukee this month. If so, perhaps you could join in supporting the ‘Eagle Parade’ along the way.
The Eagle Parade is a fund raising effort for the Veterans Count organization. The Veterans Count organization helps Veterans and their families with immediate financial assistance, mental health counseling, housing, and basic needs, and support Veterans from WW II to today.
They have local business-sponsored Eagles and celebrity Eagles that have been painted by local artists and displayed throughout the city of Manchester, NH from now until November. They will then will be auctioned off at an event on December 7th; Pearl Harbor Day.
To assist in this effort, the Motor Company has permitted the Veterans Count organization to produce a Harley-Davidson themed eagle that will travel from New Hampshire to the national rally. The intent is to have the Eagle travel along with riders coming from the Northeast who are attending the national HOG rally, stopping along the way at dealerships, designated hotels, and such. If any of your members are riding to Milwaukee for the rally, they are welcome to join. Please let me know so I can get information to the Veterans Count organization.
Thanks for your time and consideration on this. If I don’t get to see you in Milwaukee this year, I hope to see you down the road.
Bruce

If any members are planning to ride to the National Rally at the end of this month, please let me know so I can pass the info along.
Thanks,
Sharlena.

Tue 2017-07-18 Auction Date Set – bring your items in!!
The date for our auction is set – 9/16. This coincides with L-A’s unveiling of the 2018 models so we should get a lot traffic!
Items are needed to auction off and can be dropped off at the HOG’s den (please label them for the auction). You can also contact Anita (laharleychick@gmail.com) to make arrangements if you have items to donate for the auction. Remember, these items don’t have to be Harley items or motorcycle related but should be ‘lightly used’. The larger the variety the better – think dishes, clothing, jewelry, etc. Take a look at your closets and cellars for items you no longer use that you would like to donate.
The more we have, the better our auction will be!
Thanks,
Sharlena

Looks like Mother Nature isn’t cutting us any slack for our weekend trip. The forecast keeps changing, and it is improving, but it still looks like we’ll get wet – it’s just a matter of how wet…
As always, everyone is free to choose their vehicle of choice, so please check the weather and make your own decision as to how you prefer to travel (2//3 wheels or 4).
My hope is to go on the bike, but…we’ll see how it looks in the morning. Let’s all hope for good weather!
Thanks,
Sharlena.

Hello All,
We are still looking for Road Captains and sweeps to help during the Rally. Self Guided rides cannot happen without our volunteers. If you or a member of your chapter is able or willing to help out we will be having a Road Captains meeting at Loon Mountain in Lincoln New Hampshire on June 17th at 10 am. This will be a good time to share any thoughts or concerns you might have and learn more information about our guided rides.
A lite lunch will be provided.
Following the meeting, we can ride one of our shorter rides.
Please remember all Road Captains are responsible for pre riding their ride and providing a lunch stop.
Thank you all for your efforts sharing this information with your chapter. A rain date of June 24th has been made as well.
If you have a member who will be joining us on June 17th they should RSVP to Carl Harris at carlharrissr@gmail.com.

Our ride this Sunday is in support of Marlee’s Ride – A Ride to Remember. Our calendar shows this ride leaving L-A at 8:00 a.m. which is incorrect. We will actually be leaving at 10:00 a.m. to go to the starting location for the charity ride.

This ride will benefit the Marlee Fund. Proceeds will provide scholarships to girls grades 4-8 to attend Julia Clukey Summer Camp at Camp KV in Readfield, Maine.

Details:
The weather forecast isn’t looking good right now, but it’s early so let’s hope it clears up before Sunday. However, if it doesn’t we’ll just make a slight adjustment to our plans and move our dinner to the Montsweag Roadhouse in Woolwich. We will still leave L-A at the same time (whether 2/3 wheels or 4), carpooling works great since parking can be a challenge.
Thanks,
